Handcrafted, Sterling Silver, Earrings, with Cultured Pearls and Moonstone

Inspired by walks on the beach and texture in the sand as the tide recedes, these 'one of a kind' handcrafted silver earrings are finished with freshwater cultured pearls and moonstone. With its lunar associations, moonstone makes the perfect companion to pearls completing the references to the tides and all things female. Power packed earrings you might say! 
 
As with each of my handcrafted pieces, these earrings started life as a lump of silver clay. This was textured, shaped, cut and drilled. After drying and sanding the clay was fired, its during the firing process that the clay binder is burnt off, revealing the silver.  Once I was happy with the finish they were hallmarked at Edinburgh Assay Office and then given a patina to enhance the texture.
