Blue Gemstone Drop Earrings, Silver Plated

Inspired by shapes in the rockpools on the shore- the tanlge of seaweed, anemonies and shells, these 'one of a kind' drop earrings feature moody blue Apatite. Less well known perhaps than many gemstones, Apatite is actually the name given to a group of similar minerals which are not only difficult tell apart, but also have names so hard to pronounce that everyone, (bar hard core scientists!) refers to them generically as Apatites. They all share a similar composition—a mix of calcium phosphate (the material that makes our teeth and bones) fluorine, chlorine or hydroxyl, and it is this complex mix that gives Apatite gemstones their amazing range of blue-green colours. Apatite is often referred to as the gemstone of manifestation as it is believed to help you see things more clearly.
