Every girl needs some pearl earrings and I was so pleased with how these turned out that I almost kept them for myself! Finished with stunning freshwater cultured pearls they feature handcrafted silver heart charms and are finished with sterling silver ear wires.
As with each of my handcrafted pieces, these earrings started life as a lump of silver clay. This was textured, shaped, cut and drilled. After drying and sanding the clay was fired, its during the firing process that the clay binder is burnt off, revealing the silver. Once I was happy with the finish they were hallmarked at Edinburgh Assay Office and then given a patina to enhance the texture.
They come gift boxed with information about the silver making process and the pearls.
