Handcrafted Silver Sporran Pendant
This statement pendant was inspired by the Scottish sporran!
Designed and created in the Isle of Skye, it began life as a lump of silver clay which was cut, rolled, textured and assembled, sanded and dried. It basically went through several stages before I was happy with the result! Then it was fired and during the firing process the binder in the clay is burned away leaving the silver. It then went off to be hallmarked at Edinburgh Assay Office. The final stages were the polishing and burnishing followed by a quick dip in some super smelly liver of sulphur - just to enhance the textures.
The finished pendant hangs from black cord - keeping it simple and unisex. The cord length is 24 inches. And it comes to you gift boxed with information about the silver making process and tips on how to care for your handcrafted silver jewellery.
