Handcrafted Silver Brooch, Floral Design
Inspired by the heartwarming sight of beautiful arrangement of flowers in a vase, this brooch will bring joy whenever you wear it.
As with each of my handcrafted silver pieces, this brooch began life as a lump of silver clay which I textured, cut, dried and sanded. The flowers were added in stages - some being made as separate pieces and added using paste clay. I also used syringe clay for the more delicate traces. Then more drying and sanding and refining before it was fired. During the firing process the binder in the clay is burned off leaving the sterling silver. Hallmarked at Edinburgh Assay Office. The final stage was for me to add a patina to enhance the textural qualities, and to apply the sterling silver brooch pin on the back.
Diameter 4cm. Comes to you gift boxed along with information about the creating process and tips on caring for your silver jewellery.
